Acupuncture Treatments

Acupuncture has been used for over 2,000 years and is widely used today for various conditions.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a medical system that originated in ancient China. The treatment involves inserting thin needles into the skin at specific points in the body to promote natural healing and alleviate pain.

The needles used in acupuncture are so thin that it’s common not to experience any pain, and if you do, it’s minimal. Acupuncture has been used to treat a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, migraines, fertility, allergies, and insomnia.

How Does It Work?

Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the body, known as acupoints, that are believed to be connected by pathways known as meridians.

These meridians conduct energy or “qi” throughout the body, which is vital for maintaining health and wellness. When the flow of qi is disrupted, it can lead to physical, emotional, or mental imbalances
and illnesses.

Acupuncture aims to restore the body’s balance and unblock energy to allow for natural healing.

What Can You Expect During an Acupuncture Session?

  • Arriving to the Clinic

Upon arrival, our friendly front desk staff will assist you with check-in and guide you around. Please have a seat in the waiting room while we notify your acupuncturist. For your first visit, we recommend eating beforehand to avoid lightheadedness.

  • Before Treatment

Your practitioner will guide you to the treatment room, ask questions to help determine the root cause of the issue, check your tongue, and feel your pulse to assess your health. Then, they’ll step out so you can prepare for your treatment.

  • During Your Acupuncture Treatments

Your practitioner will begin your treatment by gently inserting nearly painless acupuncture needles after cleaning the points. Depending on your needs, they may incorporate supporting modalities like cupping, moxa, or gua sha to enhance your treatment. To ensure your comfort, they’ll offer options like a heat lamp or hot pack, and provide a call button if needed. With soothing music playing, relax as the needles take effect. Your practitioner will check in briefly, then leave you to rest peacefully for the remainder of the session.

  • After Treatment

After you rest, your acupuncturist will return to the treatment room to remove the needles. Once they leave, you can take a few moments to get dressed before meeting them again in the reception area. Your acupuncturist will then advise you on when to return for a follow-up treatment and may prescribe herbal supplements if needed.

My favorite Acupuncturist! I always feel supported and so much more relaxed when I leave. Just such a good place to go and leave it on the table. Anna and the team are outstanding, and you can tell they just LOVE what they do.

Amazing team, from the front to the practitioners! They are most wonderful in how much they care and try to help. I’ve been to 3 other acupuncture clinics and I can finally say I’ve found my final stop, hence leaving a 5 star review (10 if I could). Andrea, you’re the best!
