Massage and Cupping

A therapeutic combination of targeted massage and silicone cupping therapy designed to release deep tension, improve circulation, and restore ease of movement.

What is Massage and Cupping

This treatment pairs the hands-on therapeutic benefits of massage with the restorative power of silicone cupping therapy for a deeply effective, integrative session. The massage is tailored to your specific areas of tension, pain, or restricted mobility, while cupping works beneath the surface to lift and decompress soft tissue, support myofascial release, and improve local circulation.

Together, these two modalities create a treatment that goes beyond surface-level relaxation to address the underlying patterns of tension, overuse, and restriction that contribute to chronic discomfort.

Understanding silicone Cupping Therapy

Cupping uses gentle suction to lift the layers of tissue beneath the skin, creating space within the fascia and encouraging fresh blood flow to areas of stagnation and tightness. Unlike massage, which applies pressure downward into the tissue, cupping decompresses, making the two techniques a natural and highly complementary pairing.

Benefits

  • Releases deep myofascial tension and adhesions
  • Improves circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Reduces chronic muscle tightness and soreness
  • Supports recovery from overuse and repetitive strain
  • Increases range of motion and tissue mobility
  • Calms the nervous system and reduces stress-related tension
  • Leaves the body feeling open, mobile, and restored

What to expect during a Massage and Cupping treatment

  • Cups may be placed statically or moved along the tissue, depending on your individual needs.

  • You may feel a mild pulling or decompressing sensation as the cups lift the tissue. This is normal and should not be painful.

  • Some clients experience temporary skin marking after cupping, which typically fades within a few days. Marking is a natural response indicating that circulation and tissue release are occurring.

  • Your therapist will check in with you throughout the session to ensure your comfort.

  • If you are new to cupping, your therapist will walk you through the process and adjust the treatment accordingly.

Who Should Book It?

Massage and Cupping is ideal for those experiencing chronic muscle tension, tightness from stress or repetitive movement, limited range of motion, or lingering discomfort from overuse or injury. It is also well-suited for those who have tried massage alone and are seeking a deeper, more lasting release. If you are new to cupping, our therapists will guide you through the process and tailor the treatment to your comfort level.

Enhancements & Add-Ons

  • 300 MG CBD Massage Cream — A high-potency solution designed to target areas of acute pain with precision. Infused with more menthol and CBD, this cream delivers immediate and effective localized relief with just a small amount. It creates a robust and therapeutic treatment that soothes discomfort and enhances relaxation.
For the CBD enhancement, we use a full-body CBD cream of moderate potency (150mg CBD per ounce) for overall application, and apply the 300mg high-potency formula specifically to targeted areas requiring deeper, more concentrated support.
  • Aromatherapy — A sensory enhancement designed to deepen your treatment experience. Choose your blend based on your personal needs — whether you’re looking to calm the nervous system, ease tension and promote deep relaxation, or restore energy and uplift the senses. Each blend is thoughtfully selected to complement your session and create a more immersive, healing experience.

The Staff at Lokahi is very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I have been a patient at Lokahi for a couple of years and each time I go I am treated with respect, the practitioners listen to my needs and have helped me immensely with my pain.

C. H.

I’ve been frequenting Lokahi for the past year. I’ve seen several practitioners here: JB for pain, Susannah and Andrea for fertility/prenatal acupuncture and Smriti for cosmetic acupuncture. I have seen great improvements in my physical and mental health after each visit. What sets Lokahi apart from all other places in the Bay Area is that all the practitioners work really well together and share detailed notes about your progress, what worked well for you and they focus on that. Each one of them is awesome and I’m so grateful for them!

S. R.

I have been coming here for the past few weeks and my experience with Yun Hee has been outstanding. She is very knowledgeable, attentive and extremely attuned to each patient’s unique needs. She offered more emotional support and peace of mind in a way that I can not find anywhere else.
