Qin Zhu, L. Ac. worked as an occupational therapist for 17 years before deciding to change her career path. She joined Lokahi in November, 2021 as an acupuncturist.
Qin specializes in both fertility and pain management. She is passionate in helping women with endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) and supporting both women and men to achieve optimal results with IVF. Her areas of expertise also include headaches, migraines, neck pain, low back pain, sciatica, dysmenorrhea as well as long Covid symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, palpitations and itching. Qin not only practices acupuncture, she also implements the use of herbs to optimize the results of her treatments.
With her knowledge, experience, and compassionate nature, Qin is able to provide the most comprehensive and effective solutions for patients while creating a warm and supportive treatment experience.
Qin’s inspiration to heal people comes from her father who practices western medicine. In 1999, she obtained her bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy. Over the years she has continued her education, looking for more holistic and natural healing modalities. Qin decided to pursue further education in traditional Chinese medicine in 2017.
Qin obtained her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the University of East-West Medicine. She attends continuing education courses and keeps up with current research and new treatment strategies. Her strong bilingual ability allows her to access research studies and literature in both Chinese and English.
Qin was born in China, moved to Singapore as a teenager, and moved to the Bay Area with her family in 2016. She lives with her husband and has two lovely teenage boys. As a family, they enjoy traveling, hiking and hunting for gourmet food together. She also likes cooking, gardening and practicing yoga in her free time.
